All full credit SMIC Academy tutorials will meet for a minimum of 32 weeks.  Course content for a general high school level course will be a minimum of 4.5 hours per week including class time and assigned at-home independent study.  Half credit courses will meet for a minimum of 16 weeks in the semester and also have a minimum of 4.5 hours per week (including class time and at-home independent study) unless the ½ credit course meets throughout the year with less independent work assigned.  Course descriptions by the independent faculty will indicate whether the course has full credit content, partial credit content or only designed to be a unit study supplement to a regular high school course.  Teachers are Shades Mountain Independent Church employees, Shades Mountain Christian School professional educators or Faculty/Parents (some who are certified teachers or professionals in their field)   whose children are enrolled with SMIC Academy. 

Grade Levels:  Tutorials are primarily for  the 9th grade and up student or  10/11, 11/12 or they have a prerequisite.  A few can accomodate upper elementary or middle school-age children.  Please read the course description carefully to determine if the class is appropriate for your child.
