SMIC Academy?
|
|
Shades Mountain Independent Church has had an “on-campus” church school called
Shades Mountain Christian School for over twenty years. SMCS has over 400
students and operates in a traditional school format with an emphasis on
academics, student activities and student discipleship. Our “off-campus”
church school called Shades Mountain Independent Church Academy
covers homeschooled students and has been in existence since the 97-98 school
year. We currently have 72 families enrolled with children in 2nd-12
grade and an additional 26 families who participate in a preschool program for
children K4-1st grade.
The mission statement of SMIC Academy is:
Based on the exhortation of Deuteronomy 6:6-9, Shades
Mountain Independent Church Academy (SMICA) is a church-based, family-centered,
discipleship ministry that assists homeschool parents in fulfilling their calling to home
educate their children according to the Christ-centered, Biblical worldview.
